A new client asked if I could help with a dental problem. This was a surprise as I was expecting questions regarding his overly red skin. My client was in extreme pain and his jaw was swollen and hard. The dentist had recommended that the bleeding gums where due to an infection and would first need to be addressed before having his wisdom teeth pulled. The dentist offered no other treatment or advice.

I looked into his mouth and he had what appeared to be an inflamed open wound on the inside of each cheek. Recently I had chatted to Chris, he mentioned that it had soothed his sore throat. It was worth trying as my client was very distressed and in a great deal of pain I had only received the drum of oil and it would be the first time I prescribe it internally. I asked him to take a teaspoon of Australian Jo and work it in his mouth thoroughly then swallow it. I kept my fingers crossed. Within minutes of taking the oil my client said, "That’s better, now what else can you do". You could have knocked me down with a feather. His pain had stopped. He was my first dental patient. I strapped his face with Kineso Tape to assist the swelling of his face and jaw.

Over the next 2 days he repeated rinsing his mouth and swallowing the ester after brushing his teeth very lightly. I inspected his mouth only to see that the cheeks had healed and all that remained was a white patch of light scaring. The other improvement is his beard had softened. Yes I would say I now have a very happy, recovering client. He insisted that he takes some of the Jojoba with him, as he will be using it on his salads as he enjoyed the nutty flavour.
